Gender and language. Survey researches

This paper discusses the relations between gender, behavior and language, and the possible differences in female and male use of language. The observations are based on the results of a survey carried out among foreign students of Sofia University. The analysis is focused on some linguistic and behavioral characteristics specific for student groups of Slavic, Balkan, Western and Eastern origin. The conclusions are drawn upon the language practice of foreign students, which are improving their linguistic and communication skills in Bulgarian language. Some of the observations, together with other perspectives on gender and language, are the subject of a larger study, namely Innovative research. Gender and Language.
