Periphrastic Prohibitive Constructions in Old Bulgarian Writing

The object of investigation in the current paper is the presence of periphrastic prohibitive constructions in original and translated Old Bulgarian and Middle Bulgarian compositions as well as Old Russian and Serbian texts. The analysis traces the generic and stylistic approaches in their usage as well as the historical development of periphrastic prohibitive constructions and their later forms and transformations in the literary Bulgarian language and its dialects.
