The text is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of prof. B. Parashkevov and his fruitful work in the field of etymology and lexicography. The authors present several etymologies of widespread Bulgarian phrases and their analogues in other European and Eastern languages. A special focus is put on their relation to folk stories, ancient and old literature.
