Desiring to attract a larger audience, online media resort to various strategies. One of the techniques to influence the readers is to employ sports vocabulary when covering political news. Sports terms and connotations are easy to understand and widely used by the general public. So journalists use sports metaphors in order to talk about the conflicts and achievements of politicians.
