The symbol of water in Miroslav Penkov‘s short story „East of the West“

The article focuses on the development of symbolic meanings of water in Miroslav Penkovs’ story East of the West. The Jungian postulates about the architype of anima and the process of individuation are used in the analysis. The symbol in literature is conceptualized as a compressed text, which has transformative potential.
