# The Language of the Media: An Analysis of New Realities

**Abstract**: The article is dedicated to the speeches of presidential candidates Georgi Ivanov-Gonzo and Dimitar Berbatov at the extraordinary congress of the Bulgarian Football Union. The study tracks whether their public speaking adheres to the official discourse, how dynamic and original it is, and what messages they reach the audience through them. On the other hand, it examines certain phonetic features, such as tempo, rhythm, intonation, logical stress, hesitation pauses, etc. The object of linguistic analysis is also the presence of repetitions, patterned expressions, how the attitude towards the delegates and guests from UEFA and FIFA is presented, metaphorical speech, etc. The article also analyzes the speech strategies of the two presidential candidates, drawing conclusions about their purpose: whether to eloquently convince voters and attract approval, or vice versa.
