The article proves the explanatory power of factor analysis in the study of correctness : incorrectness ratings of 12 non-codified variants in oral speech. The empirical data are derived from a nationally representative survey conducted in 2010. In the present paper, the course of the factor analysis is presented and its results are commented on. 3 main components (factors) were extracted that explain the variability in the baseline scores for the 12 non-standard speech variants.
