Prof. Dr. Nadezhda Mikhailova-Stalyanova graduated from the Russian language High School. She is a graduate of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with three majors - Slavonic Philology, Bulgarian Philology and English Philology.
Her PhD thesis was based on comparative Slavic linguistics.
Her research interests are in the field of contemporary developments in the Bulgarian language, semantics, linguistic metaphor, public speech, teaching Bulgarian as a foreign language. She is the founder and director (2009-2017) of the Centre for the Analysis of Political and Journalistic Speech.
Author of dozens of scientific articles, she has published five monographs, three specialized dictionaries and several textbooks on Bulgarian as a foreign language.

Prof. Dr. Vladislav Milanov was born in 1977 in Kardzhali. He graduated in Bulgarian philology at the University of Veliko Tarnovo „St. Cyril and Methodius“ (1999) and law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky”.
ОHe is the founder of the Center for Analysis of Political and Journalistic Speech. He is the head of the student scientific expedition „On the Trail of the Bulgarian Revivalists“.
His research interests are in the field of linguistic culture, the history of the New Bulgarian literary language and Bulgarian linguistics.
He teaches or has taught linguistics courses to undergraduate students from different specialisations: Bulgarian Philology, History, Law, Scandinavian Studies; as well as Master's students from different programmes: Linguistics, Conference Translation, Chinese Studies.
He has delivered lectures on current issues of contemporary Bulgarian language in Prague, London, Krakow, Brno, Bucharest, Venice, etc.

Prof. Dr. Yuliana Stoyanova teaches at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and teaches lecture courses on modern Bulgarian language to students of different specialties, as well as lectures on "Psycholinguistics" and "Developmental Psycholinguistics" to students of the specialty “Logopedics”.
Her research covers a wide range of problems of the modern Bulgarian language, often in comparison with other languages, issues of linguistic pragmatics, analyses of literary works in terms of the psychological perspective expressed in them, deep psychological interpretations of folklore and authorial texts, second language acquisition and learning, etc. She has also participated in a number of projects of national and international importance.
She is the author of about 150 publications, including 6 individual and 5 collective monographs, studies and articles in scientific journals and collections at home and abroad, published reviews, prefaces, etc. The largest share of publications is devoted to the acquisition of the Bulgarian language at an early age.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radost Zhelezarova has been a lecturer at the Department of Slavic Linguistics at the Faculty of Slavic Philology since 2007. She teaches Translation Theory, Translation Practice, Conference Translation from/into Slavic Languages, Practical Czech.
Her doctoral dissertation “Manifestations of Lexical Asymmetry between Bulgarian and Czech” (2003) was published in 2015. She has been an associate professor since 2016 with her habilitation thesis “Linguistic Problems and Errors in Translation from Slavic Languages into Bulgarian”.
Her research interests are in the field of Slavic-Slavic translations, comparative linguistics, features of film translation and subtitling, manifestations of asymmetry and difficulties in simultaneous and consecutive translation between Slavic languages. She translates fiction and specialised literature from Czech, Slovak, Russian and French.
She has published dozens of articles, reviews and annotations in numerous periodicals and collections. She has participated in various research projects and forums in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Magdalena Abadjieva was born in 1978 in Ruse. In 2002 she graduated Bulgarian Philology at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky”.
In 2013 she published her debut collection of poems „Cured Forgetfulness“. In 2015 her second book of poems „Between Two Seconds“ was published.
In 2017 she defended her PhD thesis “Pavlikan Literature of the 18th century in the History of the Bulgarian Language”.
She works at the Institute of Bulgarian Language "Prof.Lyubomir Andreichin” (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) in the section of the history of the Bulgarian language.
She has specialized in Rome (Italy) and Ljubljana (Slovenia). She speaks English and Italian.

Lilia Zheleva graduated Slavic Philology at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky”. She holds a Master's degree in Slavic Studies (Ukrainian language and literature) and Bulgarian Studies, and of a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature. She obtained her Ph.D. at Sofia University, where she teaches Bulgarian lexicology, language culture, practical Bulgarian, Ukrainian language, conference translation, etc. She also teaches Bulgarian as a Foreign Language at the Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture for Foreign students learning Bulgarian. She is a permanent member of the jury of the International Spelling Bee in Ukrainian at Jagiellonian University in Krakow and is the organizer of a similar competition for students at the Sofia University. She translates fiction and is a certified oral examiner for the Cambridge University International English Language Examinations.
