Cases of Non-Categoriality of Nouns

Some of the basic manifestations of non-categorial semantics in the sphere of nouns are reviewed in the article. Firstly, a short characteristic of the essence of non-categorial meanings in grammar is provided, and the functional-semantic approach to language developed by Alexander Vladimirovich Bondarko is accepted as a starting point. Subject of investigation are the grammatical categories number and gender of Russian nouns. In the article, juxtaposition is made in with grammatical phenomena in the Bulgarian language, which gives the research a comparative aspect.
